Interior graphics & illuminated signage
A joint-venture travel centre with Jet2 Holidays, branded on both halves — and a fit that had to be finished before the doors opened at 8am.
After the successful fit of their first sign, Barton-Knott came back for a full set of graphics and signage for a new joint venture with Jet2 Holidays. One half of the centre needed Jet2 branding, the other half their own. The only fixed requirement was two world maps on the wall — one for a children's area, one to plot customers' destinations. They also wanted an illuminated sign to pull people in after hours, since the centre sits near the entrance to a 24-hour supermarket.
The centre is inside a public shopping mall, so the entire fit had to be finished by 8am. That meant starting the external sign at half five in the morning. It did not go to plan: the end wall on the left hand side turned out not to be straight, so a strip of metal had to be trimmed on site to make the sign fit.
The trim was made on the spot and the sign went up without any visible compromise. The internal fit ran more smoothly — and when the client changed the order of the images part-way through, it was re-sequenced without fuss. The graphics were chosen to complement each other across the whole run, representing the destinations they actually sell, so the Barton-Knott half of the centre is a wash of colour and dreamy destinations against Jet2's more corporate side.
Open on time, brief met in full, and the whole thing delivered inside budget.
