Why people stay
He takes the brief, does the design, sends the artwork and answers the phone. Nothing gets handed to a junior halfway through, and nothing gets lost between an account manager and a studio. The person you liked at the start is the person still on it at the end.
Twenty years of supplying artwork means knowing bleed from trim, spot from process, and which lovely idea falls apart on an uncoated stock. Files land at the printer right the first time — the difference between a deadline met and a reprint paid for.
Steve has never needed to chase work. Clients pass his name on, then come back with the next job, and the one after that. Some of the businesses below have been with him for the best part of two decades.

The whole company
Every job begins in a layout pad with a Pantone fan open on the desk and a biro doing the thinking. It is slower than the shortcut. It is also why nothing that leaves this studio looks like it came off a shelf.
Steve is the designer, the account manager and the person who picks up the phone. When a job needs a photographer, an illustrator or a printer, he brings in people he has trusted for years — and he still runs the job.
Twenty years in, most of the work still arrives by recommendation. That tells you most of what you need to know.
Where Steve works
The studio is in Thorpe Astley, five minutes from the ring road — near enough to most of the county for a proper meeting rather than a video call.
